Daniela Mera of Muisine wins Best in National Costume for Miss Ecuador 2020

The 70th edition of Miss Ecuador i.e., Miss Ecuador 2020, began on 17th February 2020 in Portoviejo, Manabi as the official bands were given to the twenty-two delegates who are vying for the national crown as well as a chance to represent Ecuador in Miss Universe 2020. The pageant will also a representative to Miss International (usually the first runner-up).

Prior to the event finale, a gala night was held on 19th February 2020 at Simón Bolívar Convention center where the delegates paraded in their gorgeous evening gowns and national costumes. The gorgeous divas opened the gala night with giving their introduction to the audience and the jury while being dressed in Ecuadorian company’s design. The jury for the gala night included Yolanda Bravo; President of the design commission of the organization along with Laura Arteaga; Councilman of municipal of Guayaquil.

Daniela Mera who is representing Muisne, adorned the National Costume designed by Andrea Segarra with a theme Sumak was awarded the first place. Nicole Loor Velasquez who is representing Manta adorned the National Costume designed by Wenceslao Muñoz with a theme of midwife and the secret of the flower and the butterfly was awarded the second place. Valentine Mendoza who is representing Portoviejo – Manabí adorned the National Costume designed by Manolo Loor with the theme of Goddess Umiña was placed at the third position.

The host of the gala night where special award of best in national costume was awarded was Sergio Ayala, Mister Model International who also ventured into politics as alderman of Valleadolit. Sergio was accompanied by Jennifer Pazmiño who is Miss Ecuador International 2008 and tv host.

Miss Ecuador 2019 Cristina Hidalgo will crown her successor at the finale which is scheduled to be held on 13th June 2020 at the Las Vegas Park in Portoviejo. This year’s batch of twenty-two ladies boasts of animalists, models, dancers, erxian, lawyers, economists, health professionals and university students.
