Linette De Los Santos has been crowned as Miss Florida USA 2017 on July 26’ 2016 after the original winner Genesis Davila was dethroned. Genesis Davila was dethroned for violating the rules and regulations of Miss Florida USA pageant.

The executive producer of the Miss Florida USA pageant Grant Gravitt revealed that she is no longer the reigning Miss Florida USA. The beauty queen has been accused of violating pageant rules. "We have a zero-tolerance policy on rules," said Grant Gravitt. "Whether it's something major or minor, it's all about keeping an equal and level playing field. Unfortunately, our title holder sought an unfair competitive advantage, and that's just not acceptable in our system."
According to Gravitt, the Puerto Rican beauty used professional stylists to help with her hair and makeup in her private room, and that is a violation of pageant rules. He also shared that the organisation received many complaints from the contestants, and there were even eyewitnesses. "We finally had substantial proof to link her and her vendors to her room on an evening which they were not allowed," Gravitt said.
Linette was the first runner-up at the Miss USA Florida 2017 pageant. Linettte now takes over the duties and responsibilities of Miss Florida USA 2017. Linette De Los Santos hails from Santo Domingo from Dominican Republic. She studies Law at the NSU Shepard Broad College of Law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
