The reigning Miss Belgium Lenty Frans is working on her “Beauty with a Purpose” project up and about, and is putting in her sweat to give her best. Lenty recently travelled to Cambodia for an educational project that was financed by the hard work of the Miss Belgium contestants.

The Miss Belgium Organisation too has also worked towards improving the educational system in the country. Apart from the Belgian charity Hope for the children, the Organisation built a school to provide education for 200 children in the rural village of Rong Vean. In 2013 when the project was started, it was financed with a €23,000 donation. Since then, the contestants have been providing additional funding, increasing the scope of the project every year.
“I was there only one week, but this was enough to give me impressions that will stay forever. I really enjoyed every moment and the people from Hope for the Children really create opportunities,” said Lenty about her visit. She further added, “We may provide them a lot of tools, but ultimately they are the ones who must accomplish it… The enthusiasm and sincerity of these children is something I will never forget.”

Miss Belgium Organisation came across several challenges during their visit. The living condition of the students was awful, with 25 girls sharing a 2 room house. The Organisation has promised to donate €2,000 annually so the children can rent a clean house close to the school, and can fulfil their potential.
Lenty Frans was crowned Miss Belgium 2016 after beating 29 other crown contenders on a scintillating night of January 9’ 2016 by the outgoing queen, Annelies Toros. Belgium has never won Miss World crown. But with proper training and grooming sessions, the newly crowned stunning Miss Belgique will be ready to give a power packed performance in the coming edition of Miss World pageant.
