Miss France 2021 was held a few hours ago at Puy du Fou in Les Epesses, Pays de la Loire where Miss Normandie 2020 Amandine Petit was crowned as the new Miss France 2021 and she will represent France at Miss Universe 2021/Miss World 2021. Clémence Botino of Guadeloupe crowned her successor at the end of the event finale.
Hailing from Bourguébus Amandine is 23-years-old and stands 175 cm tall and is a student at IAE Caen in a master's 2 Management of establishments and gerontological structures. She is the seventh woman from Normandie to win the title and she was one of our favourites for the title too.
Miss France 2021 Amandine Petit’s court includes:
First Runner-up: Miss Provence 2020 April Benayoum
Second Runner-up: Miss Côte d'Azur 2020 Lara Gautier
Third Runner-up: Miss Alsace 2020 Aurélie Roux
Fourth Runner-up: Miss Bourgogne 2020 Lou-Anne Lorphelin
This was not her first attempt to become a beauty queen, as she had already participated in the Miss Normandie 2015 election when she was only 18-years-old, but unfortunately wasn’t elected. After being elected as Miss France 2021, she mentioned, "Thank you to everyone who elected me. You have to believe in your dreams." In 2014, Petit met Miss France 2010 Malika Ménard of Normandy who encouraged the diva to compete in beauty pageants.
The diva intends to show that the current woman is a strong woman, a woman who can do what she wants to do.” During the question-and-answer round, Amandine was questioned by Miss France 1998 Sophie Thalmann “Miss Normandie, how would you define a modern woman today?” To which she answered, “She is a strong woman who defends great values. And today, in front of you, I embody a modern woman and I show you that we are moving forward.”
Amandine Petit would particularly like to defend the health sector and particularly research against Alzheimer's disease. A young girl who is also passionate about dance, but also about cooking. She is passionate about her goals and dreams and which ever international stage she represents France; she wants to give her best.
One of the highlights of Miss France 2021 was the that the ceremony began with a painting where 28 former Miss France paraded alongside those who claim the crown of Miss France 2021. This election marked the centenary of beauty contests in France. For the occasion, the chosen theme was "France and its influence". In addition, a very strict health protocol had been put in place to ensure the good performance of the show: all the candidates as well as the members of the team were tested and isolated. For the first time, there was no public to attend the election: only 400 people, all linked to the organization of the evening, were in the room.
