Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui crowned Miss Ghana 2020

Miss Ghana organization held its first ever virtual edition of the 2020 pageant on 21st August 2020 at National Theatre Accra where stunning beauties from all over the country competed for the national crown and Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui was crowned the new queen. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Ghana 2019 Rebecca Kwabi and will represent her country in Miss World 2020.

Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui competed with sincerity and dedication at the national contest. Her hard work and display of versatility was appreciated by the jury. She joined Miss Ghana 2020 because it was always her dream to impact society positively and also help the less privileged. Miss Ghana 2020 Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui’s court included -

First Runner-up: Isabella Agbo

Isabella Agbo, along with winning her runner-up position, also won Miss Top Model, Miss Photogenic and Most Beautiful skin awards at the finale. Annlisa Anangfio was awarded Miss Eloquence and the coveted Beauty with a Purpose awards at the finale. The annual edition began with thirty contestants which was reduced to twenty-one contestants and further to sixteen finalists who then competed for the crown at the finale.

Monique took to her official social media to express her feelings in a post captioned, “I am so appreciative to have the loyal, supportive, caring family, friends and love ones that I do. Thank you for accepting me for who I am and where I am at right now, thanks for the well wishes the votes and the encouragement. It wouldn’t have been possible without you am grateful. It is a huge source of comfort to know how much I am genuinely loved.”

“I love you all so much thank you once again. The journey hasn’t been easy because my sisters (fellow contestants) where all good in their own ways. But all thanks to God and to management for giving us this opportunity based on our hard work and the passion they saw in us. We hope to make you, management and the whole world proud of our reign”, she concluded.

Last year, Rebecca Kwabi Miss Ghana 2019 represented Ghana in Miss World 2019 but unfortunately failed to place in the Top 40. The country is yet to pioneer its win in Miss World.
