The organization of Mistry of Culture on their social media page posted information about Miss Gibraltar 2021 that stated that divas who wish to represent Gibraltar at Miss World 2021 can participate in the competition. They mentioned that the event will be organized by Gibraltar Cultural Services and Gibmedia. The recruitment for the beauty pageant will commence from 11th January 2021 and the closing date for entries is on 29th January 2021.

The requirements that the organization stated is just the age of the contestant must be between 17 years to 26 years. The first 10 contestants to sign for the pageant will each receive £500 and the winner will represent Gibraltar at Miss World 2021. The team and the organization are encouraging young women to use this as a platform to express and challenge themselves and not miss out on a positive and rewarding experience. The platform will also provide entrants with an opportunity to be involved in a unique production with a great team of experienced and talented professionals from the entertainment & fashion industry.

The Ministry of Culture later in the day also announced that they would like to clarify that the beauty pageant will not be held until the situations in the country goes normal. “This is the case for all performances in Gibraltar, including the Drama Festival, recently announced,” they added. They had initially mentioned that the competition will be held on 22nd May 2021 but later announced to reschedule until the pandemic passes. They also mentioned that the organization is working hard to keep the culture alive through the pandemic with all the government guidelines in mind and ensuring that cultural activities for Miss Gibraltar 2020 continue online.
