The coronation night for the first edition of the Miss Glamour International pageant was supposed to be held on 6th November 2021 in Oaxaca, Mexico but was unable to push through as scheduled due to irregularities.
Many national directors of participating countries from around the world withdrew their delegates from the pageant due to serious faults in the competition's production. The coronation night ended up cancelled without any explanation in between.
Hours later, the director of Nuestra Belleza Peruana, Massiel Vidal , explained what happened and even pointed out that it was his claim that stopped the pageant. He shared, “I have been the one who has paralyzed everything because I saw a very poor production. They were going to start late, which is disrespectful to the public and there were things that were not ready yet, today being a final night”
A few days prior to this incident, Gianna Margarita Llanes who was representing Philippines at the competition has issued statement saying, “I want to provide you with updates, but as I’ve mentioned, the girls and I want to provide our official statements at the same time. As of now, we are safe, but we are trying to decide what is the best thing to do for our well-being,”
In a Facebook live on Saturday, Llanes said her experience in Mexico has been “absolutely amazing” so far. “As competitive as it is because the caliber of girls in absolutely incredible, everybody has been like a sister probably because this is the pioneer year of Miss Glamour International. We do feel like we are all in this together in making a name for the pageant itself and the organization as a whole,” she added.
In the most development, the candidates have together, published an official press release which said, “We would like to hereby announce that for reasons beyond our control, which include entrusting a poorly led organization, badly planned logistics and lack of fulfillment of promises made prior to our arrival, we have decided unanimously to not continue with our participation in the Miss Glamour International competition.”
They also extended their gratitude and acknowledgmenet to their respective countries and the utmost support from the people throughout the competition, The delegates have now flown back to their respective countries and will soon give personal statements and answer all the questions of the pageant followers.
