Ashley Melendez created history for Puerto Rico at the finale of Miss Global 2023 held on 18th January 2024 at the Corona Resort & Casino Phu Quoc in Vietnam. Ashley became the first ever Puerto Rican beauty queen to win the Miss Global 2023 crown. Ashley bested 60 other contestants to win the 10th anniversary edition of Miss Global.

Ashley succeeds and was crowned by Miss Global 2022 Shane Tormes of Philippines. The Puerto Rican beauty is a marketing promoter and holds a bachelor in Psychology. Not new to the pageant world, Ashley was Miss Teen World Puerto Rico 2013. Last year, Ashley also represented Fajardo at Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2023 where she won Miss Global Puerto Rico 2023 and became the official representative of Puerto Rico at Miss Global 2023.

The newly crowned Miss Global 2023 Ashley Melendez’s court included –

1st Runner-Up – Haylani Kuruppu of Samoa

2nd Runner-Up – Chonnikarn Supittayaporn of Thailand

3rd Runner-Up – Pearl Hung of the Philippines

4th Runner-Up – Doan Thu Thuy of Vietnam

Top 13 also included Janaya Reimers of Australia, Leak Monyanita of Cambodia (Wild Card), Francheska Pujols of the Dominican Republic, Cynthia Ong of Indonesia, Taanusiya Chetty of Malaysia, Zai Jama of Somalia (Wild Card), Simphiwe Zama Ntombela of South Africa, and Tasabeh Diab of Sudan (Wild Card).

Top 20 also included Marcela Araki Yamaguti of Brazil, Valeriya Dokuzova of Bulgaria, Dahiana Aguilar of Colombia, Zlata Kozlova of Lithuania, Jade Parsons of New Zealand, Chinelo Ibegbunam of Nigeria, Raquel Robles of Spain, Danielle Alura of USA, Iriana Pinto of Venezuela.

The hosts for the evening at the finale of Miss Global 2023 were former Miss Universe Thailand Anntonia Porsild and Nico Locco. There was a special farewell performance by none other than Miss Global 2022 Shane Tormes.
