Stephanie Medina crowned Miss Grand Dominican Republic 2021

The organization Misses Of Dominican Republic, led by experts in beauty queens Jorge Cruz and Alejandro Martínez, crowned the new sovereigns of national beauty, in the first edition of the beauty pageant on 3rd October 2021 at the Barceló Bavaro Grand Resort in Punta Cana. Out of the 26 candidates who competed for the titles, Stephanie Medina of the Dominican Community in the US was crowned as Miss Grand Dominican Republic 2021 succeeding Miss Grand Dominican Republic 2020 Lady Leon for the title.

Hailing from Higuey, La Altagracia, Dominican Republic, Stephanie is 22 years old. At the age of eight, together with her mother and brothers, she immigrated to the United States for a better future. It was there when she saw the possibility of achieving her dreams in the artistic world. At the age of nine she began taking modeling classes and was developing even more interest in this world. Stephanie has a BA in Accounting and Finance, currently working on her master's degree focused on business administration.



After being crowned as the new queen, Stephanie shared her gratitude as she wrote, “A dream come true. Thank you for all the support, without a doubt, I will continue to do my best to represent my beautiful country and proudly say DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. I will dedicate myself so that the Dominican Republic looks good at this Miss Grand International.” She also thanked God, her family, friends and everyone who supported the USA community. She also acknowledged the Misses of Dominican Republic organization for placing their trust in her.

Earlier this year, Lady Leon represented Dominican Republic at Miss Grand International 2020 and made her country proud as she finished among the Top 21 finalists. Counting on the support from the country, Stephanie will soon head to Thailand to represent Dominican Republic at the 9th Miss Grand International pageant.



The 9th version of Miss Grand International, i.e., Miss Grand International 2021, will take place on 4th December 2021 in Phuket City, Thailand, where candidates from more than 60 countries and autonomous territories will compete for the title and crown for two weeks. At the end of the event, Miss Grand International 2020 Abena Akuaba Appiah from the United States will crown her successor.
