Jaylynn Cruz, 26 years of age, is currently preparing to represent Gibraltar at Miss Grand International 2023. Cruz works as a teacher with a specializing in special educational needs and disability.

Mis Gibraltar 2022 was the first ever pageant she competed in where she placed as the 1st Princess. “My younger self has always looked up to the Miss Gibraltar contestants and I wanted to be a part of it”, she spoke in an interview.

Being a special needs teacher, Cruz is a big advocate for inclusivity. She is using her platform to help communicate and promote this. Recently, Jaylynn has also hosted some coffee mornings at school in order to raise funds for different charities.

“There are some wonderful charities in Gibraltar that I want to work with. I am very grateful to be invited to local charity events and to give support where I can. It’s important to give back where possible and use the platform to make a positive influence”, she quotes.

As for her preparation for Miss Grand International, Cruz is currently learning about the pageant itself, watching previous shows and following different events pertaining to it. She has got almost a whole year to prepare, and she intends on making this an enjoyable, fulfilling experience and something that she can welcome with open arms.

Miss Grand International 2023, the 11th edition of the Miss Grand International, will be held on 25th October 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam where Isabella Menin of Brazil Miss Grand International 2022 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
