Meenakshi Chaudhary is an Indian model, actor and beauty pageant titleholder who represented India at Miss Grand International 2018 on 25th October 2018 where she was placed as the first runner-up at the end of the event finale.
Meenakshi was studying dentistry from the National Dental College and Hospital in Dera Bassi, Punjab when she decided to participate in Femina Miss India 2018 stated that she fell in love with the stage, camera, and modelling after she gained confidence after winning the pageant. She is also a state level swimmer and badminton player. She explained that she had worked very hard during the competition and when she represented India at Miss Grand International 2018, she felt like it was a huge honour for her. She was appreciated for her performance during the competition and with her placement she made everyone at home very proud.
The diva also explained, “I come from a family of government servants, so I had no idea about showbiz. But I slowly and steadily fell in love with the camera and started balancing my modelling assignments with my studies.” She also mentioned that with her win at Miss Grand International 2018, there were several opportunities that were offered to her for which she is very grateful. She has worked with various designers and brands in India after which she is very comfortable on-stage and feels that she is where she belongs.
The diva made her television debut with a web series titled, ‘Out of Love’, which is an official adaptation of BBC drama series Doctor Foster. She played the role of Alia Kashyap, a 22-year-old who faces adversity, stress, and the repercussions for having a relationship with a married person. Now, the queen is ready to make her Tamil debut as she is working on a movie opposite Susanth Anumolu in a Darshan-directorial, Ichata Vahanalu Niluparadu. The diva is taking up Telugu classes to get use to the language and attending workshops to get familiarise with her character.
Explaning about her character Meenakshi explains, “She is strong and ambitious and falls in love with a guy. The different shades that come out as my character unfolds make for an exciting watch.” She explained that she met the actor Susanth at an acting workshop in Mumbai and he didn’t know that she was a beauty pageant winner. “Then on the last day of the workshop, when everyone was introducing themselves, we understood who the other was. Thereafter with a little more research on him, I also understood that he is actor Nagarjuna’s nephew,” explains the actress.
