Just as the year 2018 has graced us with its presence, there comes a special announcement from the Miss Grand International organization. This time the pageant Miss Grand International 2018 is all set to take place on 25th October 2018 in the Golden Land of Myanmar. This news came in through an announcement on Miss Grand International’s official Facebook page.
This will be the 6th edition of Miss Grand International and it is expected that over 80 contestants from all around the world will be participating in the contest. The Miss Grand International committee is chaired by Nawat Itsaragrisil. It is worth noting that Miss Grand International was created to encourage the fight against violence and war in the world.
Till date, 5 editions of the pageant have taken place in various countries successfully. In a short span of 5 years, the pageant has gained wide acceptance and popularity all over the world. While widely debatable, many people’s opinion says that it’s time to consider Miss Grand International in the list of Big5 International pageants.
Last year on 25th October 2017 the 5th edition of Miss Grand International was held at the Vinpearl Convention Center on the island of Phú Qu?c, Vietnam where candidates from 77 countries and autonomous territories competed for the title. At the end of the grand coronation night Ariska Putri Pertiwi, Miss Grand International 2016 from Indonesia crowned María José Lora from Peru as her successor and winner of the night.
It would be interesting to see the beautiful land of Myanmar host this year’s Miss Grand International with its cultural beauty and diversity.
