On winning the national crown at the competition, Chong took to her official social media as she wrote, “Wow! What a journey it has been, this was definitely one of the most emotional ones for me. All the blood, sweat and tears through the years and past months coming forth to this moment, I still can’t believe that this happen. That I am standing here as your Miss Grand Malaysia 2022. Winning the crown is just 1% of the journey, and 99% of the journey is determination and hard work! Her reply definitely helped her win the crown. “The simple answer is yes. As a woman we have so many diverse skills to contribute and serve in the military such as being a frontliner, a leader and also an officer. I believe that with given such opportunities. We should have a right and choice as a Malaysian woman to make our own decisions. Focus on our potential and say No to gender discrimination and say yes to inclusivity and diversity. Thank you”, she replied.
