Miss Grand Netherlands had recently announced its list of finalists that would take the competition further for Miss Grand Netherlands 2018. Of the twelve finalists that had made it to the final stage, one has decided to back down from the competition.

22-years-old Deborah van Hemert hails from Heinkenszand (Zeeland). She is half Dutch and half Indonesian as her mother is of Indonesian descent. Hence, she grew up learning two cultures and is very proud of her roots. Deborah holds a degree in beautician and has worked as a professional beautician at a renowned spa, and now the beauty queen owns her own beauty salon. Being a professional beautician, she always loves to keep herself groomed.

Possessing a sweet and friendly nature, the beauty loves to help needy people. Deborah is a pageant veteran as she has already won two coveted beauty titles - one is Miss Beauty of Zeeland in 2015 held in October, and another one is Miss Organic Tan 2015/2016. She has also won a major pageant, Miss Earth 2016.

Stating personal reasons, Deborah has resigned from the competition. The organization tried their best to work out a way to keep the beauty queen in the competition, however, a way could not be worked out around Deborah’s personal issues, and she had to finally take back her candidacy for the crown of Miss Grand Netherlands 2018.

Miss Grand Netherlands is currently expected to proceed with the remaining 11 contestants. The pageant comes under the franchise of “12 Months of Beauty”, which is run by Robin and Stefan, the national directors, which also owns the Miss Earth Netherlands pageant that crowned Deborah in the past.
