28 Jan 2021 | Camilla Suarez

Andrea De las Heras who was adjudged as the first runner-up at Miss Universe Spain 2020 and was later appointed as Miss Grand Spain 2020 will no longer be competing at Miss Grand International 2020 and representing Spain.

The organization of Miss Grand Spain released a statement on their official social media handle where they mentioned that they designated Andrea De las Heras as a replacement of Sara Cisneros but since Andrea was adjudged as the first runner-up at Miss Universe Spain 2019, she is under one-year contract and cannot represent Spain at Miss Grand International 2020. The organization also mentioned that after the announcement of her designation, Miss Grand Spain organization along with Andrea received an email which mentioned that Andrea had ‘breached the contract’ as she cannot travel to Thailand for the competition and thus, she cannot represent Spain at Miss Grand International 2020.

“You show yourself in a contest lasting only a week, you must bear all costs such as PCR (XN COVID-19), flight, ... They force you to sign some documents. with the contestants while wearing makeup and not giving any copies at the end of the contest, you come home and continue your life A new opportunity appears, you are extremely happy and then one Day, you received email threatening to violate your image management contract for ONE YEAR!” shared Andrea on her social media.

Miss Grand Spain might designate another diva to represent Spain at Miss Grand International 2020 which is scheduled to take place on 27th March 2021 in Thailand. This would be the third candidate to be appointed after Sara Cisneros and Andrea De las Heras. The diva was not only one of the favorites for Miss Universe Spain 2020 but after being appointed as Miss Grand Spain 2020 was emerging out to be one of the strongest contenders for the title.  The pageant fanatics also feel highly disappointed by the decision because the diva was a promising candidate who could have won the title for the country.

The news comes few days after Seng Rotha also stepped down as Miss Grand Cambodia 2020. Miss Grand International 2020 is going to miss two strong contenders on-stage.
