In a recent Facebook post by Miss Grand International, Pawani Vithanage was crowned the new Miss Grand Sri Lanka 2018 after defeating 14 other contestants. At the grand finale of Miss Grand Sri Lanka 2018 held recently, Pawani was crowned the new queen. She will now represent Sri Lanka in Miss Grand International 2018 to be held on 25th October 2018 in Myanmar.

Pawani succeeds Miss Grand Sri Lanka 2017 Paththage Visna Kawmini Fernando. Paththage Visna was unable to secure a position in the finale of Miss Grand International 2017 where she represented her nation, but she was one of the finalists in the Best National Costume section.

Pawani is 23 years of age and 170 cm in height. She is currently a student of Bachelor of Business Management Accountancy Special Degree at the University of Kelaniya. Pawani is also an Audit Associate at Deloitte Sri Lanka. She is a model and collecting stamps is her hobby. In the future, Pawani wants to become a businesswoman and a social service provider.
