Evelyn Abena Appiah appointed Miss Grand United States 2020

Evelyn Abena Appiah has been appointed as the new Miss Grand United States 2020 and will be representing the United States at Miss Grand International 2020. The organization’s decision of appointing rather than hosting a coronation ceremony for Abena as the new Miss Grand United States 2020 is due to the pandemic outbreak. Abena holds a dual nationality and that’s why she can represent the United States at the competition. Miss Grand United States 2019 Emily Irene crowned her successor and shared her journey has been one of the best years of her life.

Abena is 27-years-old and stands 172 cm all and is not new to the pageantry world as she has previously represented Ghana at Miss Earth 2019 where she was placed at the Top 20 and was also the part of Miss Universe 2014. The diva won Miss Talent Ghana in 2012 and Top Model Ghana 2013 after which she represented Ghana in the Top Model of The World pageant held in Egypt. She has modeled for most of the top name designers from around the world such as crèmè de la crèmè from the United States, Andres Aquino from Spain, Sushma Patel from India, Catalan from France, late Kofi Ansah from Ghana, just to name a few. Abena holds a degree in Fashion from the Radford University in Ghana and is determined to win the pageant for her country. She loves to be on-stage as she feels that she is confident and empowered when she is on-stage. She describes herself as an entertainer who loves to be entertained as well. She stepped into the world of beauty pageants and modeling at the age of 3 and discovered her love of music at the age of 9. She has been signing, acting, writing, and performing her own music since a long time now. She has released five singles and is working on her first album to be released in 2015.

Abena is strong, confident, and dedicated woman who aspires to win the title for her country and believes, "Strive hard to achieve your goals no matter the circumstances.” The diva who also belongs to Ghana wants to work and use her platform to raise awareness about opportunities for the young girls in her country and believes that she has the skills and abilities to do so. The diva is beautiful, and determined to showcase her skills at the competition. She has already started to prepare herself for the finale as she is working on her on-stage walk, body angles, body postures and communication and interview skills. She is also keeping a check on her health as she aims to stay fit and healthy by the time the finale night is near.

The 8th edition of the Miss Grand International i.e., Miss Grand International 2020 was scheduled to be held in the month of October 2020 in the city of Caracas, Venezuela. The delegates from all over the world will compete for the title. At the end of the event, Miss Grand International in 2019 Valentina Figuera from Venezuela, will crown her successor. But due to the pandemic the Miss Grand International Organization has decided to postpone the pageant to early 2021. There hasn’t been any official announcement regarding the pageant’s postponing to 2021 so the confirmation is still awaiting.
