Sophie Gradon, an ex-Miss Great Britain 2009 was an English model and a brilliant marketing manager whose untimely death has caused million of hearts to drown in melancholy. The beauty queen sadly demised on the evening of this Wednesday, on 20th June, 2018 at her folk’s place in Ponteland, Northumberland.
The 32-year-old won Miss New Castle in 2008 and was crowned Miss Great Britain 2009. In 2016, Gradon was a contestant on season 2 of Love Island where she set history by coupling with Katie Salmon, a first ever same-sex relationship for the show. She has been openly bisexual since then. The deceased was also a promoter of the NE1 campaign in Newcastle City Centre, through which she raised money for charities.
Suicide is believed to be the suspected cause, ruling out any dubious state of affairs associated to her death. As a spokesperson of Northumbria Police said, "At about 8.27pm yesterday (June 20) police attended a property in Medburn, Ponteland, where sadly a 32-year-old woman was found deceased.”
"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A report will now be prepared for the coroner,” he added.
With her gorgeous smile gone now, many of her close friends and family from the industry are now taking to social media to pay condolences and express their remorse.
Aaron Armstrong, the love of her life, as she herself mentioned in one of her Instagram post, has paid heart-rending tribute to her this morning. Sharing a picture of her, he wrote,"I will never forget that smile I love you so so much baby your my world forever ever and always."
The official Miss Great Britain also paid tribute on their Twitter account, saying, "Shocked beyond belief!!! RIP @sophiegradon sending all our love to Sophie’s family at this incredibly sad time xx"
The model’s activity on her various social media accounts suggest that she had been struggling with anxiety and depression for a while now. Mental health is of utmost importance and it is for reasons like these that people need to understand to be kinder towards everyone, for one may not know what the other person maybe going through. May she rest in peace and god give her family and friends immense strength to cope with the tragic circumstances.
