The Miss Great Britain organization has recently announced the brand new regional heat for 2022, the Miss London contest. The pageant will be London’s only official contest linked to Miss Great Britain, and will crown not one but two representatives for the capital, Miss Greater London and Miss Central London, both of which will go on to compete at the national finals later this year.
The Miss London contest will be headed under the new Regional Director Lizzie Calderara, a three times Miss Great Britain finalist who has previously placed Top 15, and has won several regional titles and national awards during her nine years in the industry. She also raised an incredible £6000 for the official charities last year, so it is sure that the finalists will be in great hands and will have lots of support ahead of the finals.
Lizzie also took to her social media to share the same as she wrote, “I am thrilled to announce that I am the new Regional Director for Miss London. This is such an exciting year to be a part of the competition, particularly since the announcement of the new age bracket, coupled with the lack of restrictions regarding marriage and children, I believe, makes Miss Great Britain, the most accepting and welcoming pageant in the UK and one I am extremely proud to work with.”
The rules of entry into the regional contest are as follows:
You must be aged 18-30 on the date of the National Final.
You CAN be married and/or have children.
You must live, work or study within 50 miles of London or have a personal connection to the city.
You must currently live in the UK and hold a full British passport.
You must not have posed topless or nude for photographs.
There must be nothing in your background that could bring the Miss London/ Miss Great Britain contest, or its sponsors, into disrepute.
Once crowned Miss Greater London/ Miss Central London, you must commit to the Miss Great Britain National Finals and will not be permitted to compete in any other pageant until after the Miss Great Britain National Finals have taken place.
Miss Great Britain is Britain's longest running beauty contest held annually in Britain since 1945. The current title holders of the title are Miss Great Britain 2021/22 Eden McAllister and Ms Great Britain 2021/22 Kat Henry.
