Miss Haiti organization held the finale of the 2022 edition where Mideline Phelizord was crowned Miss Haiti 2022. The coronation ceremony was held on Friday, 12th August 2022 at Hotel Villa Cana in Cap-Haitien.
Mideline Phelizord is a 27-year-old law science graduate and entrepreneur from Port-au-Prince who bested seven other finalists to win her title. Mideline is the owner of the Silhouette Agency for aspiring professional models and she also founded the Silhouette Foundation to help her community. Mideline lost her mother at the age of five and thus always has a special connection with orphans.
“I experienced the death of my mother when I was 5 years old. Although I am grateful to my aunt and those who took care of me, the void left by this unexpected departure was enormous and unfulfilled. A connection has always been established between the orphan children and me. I have always shown my empathy and my solidarity with them. By acting to provide them with pleasure and affection, I am reconciled with this little girl, whom I was and who felt lost, seeking the endearing smile of her late mother.I want to be part of this village that raises children. I want to contribute to laying that smile on their faces and to building in their hearts a refuge of love for all”, she wrote.
Mideline Phelizord is no stranger to pageantry as in 2018, she was first runner-up in Miss World Haiti and was also named Miss Supranational Haiti 2018. She went on to participate in Miss Supranational 2018 where she was awarded Top Model Caribbean.
Also at the finale, Valierie Alcide and Murielle Brunache were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. She succeeds last year's titleholder Pascale Bélony and will represent her Caribbean country at Miss Universe 2022.
