It comes as a disappointment to fans in India that Miss Intercontinental 2017 will not happen in India this year, as was earlier expected. As per the official release by Miss Intercontinental organization, the 46th edition of the pageant will now take place once again in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The finale of the event will take place on 21st December 2017 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo.
More than 60 beauties from across the globe are expected to compete for the title of the most beautiful woman of all continents. The candidates will arrive in Colombo on 6th and 7th December and will be there for around two weeks for various preliminary activities and the pageant finale on 21st December before departing for their respective nations on 22nd and 23rd December.
Last year, the finale was held in Colombo too, when Heilymar Rosario from Puerto Rico was crowned as Miss Intercontinental 2016 by the then reigning queen Valentina Rasulova from Russia, Miss Intercontinental 2015. Heilymar defeated sixty-two other beauties competing to clinch the title.
