During the coronation ceremony of Miss intercontinental 2017 held on 24th January 2018, Verónica Salas Vallejo was crowned the new queen at the Sunrise Garden Beach Resort & Spa, Hurghada, Egypt. She defeated 64 other delegates from all over the world and become the first ever girl form her country to emerge as the winner.

Personal Life and Educational Background

Véronica is a graduate of Science in Physical Education and Sports Sciences. She is 25 years of age and stands tall at a height of 175 cm. Veronica is into fitness and is also a physical educator by profession. This Venezuelan beauty’s hobbies include reading, riding a horse, dancing, and practising gym.

Participation in pageants before Miss Intercontinental 2017

Véronica was no stranger to the pageant world before becoming an international queen as she was the 2nd runner-up of Mexicana Universal 2015 (that time called Nuestra Belleza México). She then went on to become Miss Earth Water 2016 and was also in the Top 20 of Miss Eco International 2017 where she represented Mexico.

Miss Intercontinental 2017

Verónica Salas Vellejo, having prior experience in the pageant world, performed exceedingly well during the finale. She also won the Continental Queen award for North America during the pageant. Verónica won the Best in Swimwear award in the Special Awards category. After winning the title, she had a very successful run as the new international queen. Verónica crowned Miss Intercontinental Dominican Republic 2018.

During Véronica’s reign, as a duty, she visited Ecuador for the finale of Miss Ecuador 2018. Véronica also flew to Tokyo for the election of Miss Intercontinental Japan 2018 and to Colombia as she was invited for a tree planting ceremony as well as to judge the Miss Intercontinental Colombia beauty pageant.

Other Awards

Véronica was the national winner of a beauty contest named "La Flor más Bella del Campo" held in Zapopan, Jalisco. She was also recognised by the Intermodel Star 2014 for being a part of the team of Directors in Mexico.

Career

A model by profession she has participated in fashion catwalks. She has garnered quite a reputation as one of the top models in the industry. Her stage presence due to her modelling career definitely helped her to make a mark in the international stage and win.

Véronica has been a spectacular role model as Miss Intercontinental 2017 and will soon be crowning her successor, Miss Intercontinental 2018, at the conclusion of the event finale to be held between 8th to 27th January 2019 in Manila, Philippines.
