Philippines’ Cinderella Faye Obeñita crowned Miss Intercontinental 2021

The Miss Intercontinental organization hosted the 49th edition of the international pageant on 29th October 2021 at Hotel  Sunrise Diamond Beach resort, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, where stunning delegates from all over the world to compete against each other for the coveted crown. At the end of the event, Philippines’ Cinderella Faye Obeñita was crowned as the new Miss Intercontinental 2021 as she succeeded Miss Intercontinental 2019 Fanni Miko of Hungary for the title.

The 25 year-old Cinderella, also popularly known as, Cindy, graduated Magna cum Laude from the Liceo de Cagayan University with a degree in Mass Communication. She was a student-journalist for 10 years where she honed her writing skills in news, sports, technical and feature articles.

During the question and answer portion, Obeñita was asked if speaking English is important for Miss Intercontinental. She answered, “As an ambassador, I don't think that speaking a specific language is very important here in Miss Intercontinental or any pageant at all. As long as that woman is a woman of power and grace, commitment, and intelligence.”

She went on to stress that a Miss Intercontinental winner should possess a power of substance to give hope and inspiration. "No matter what language she speaks, and that woman is actually a woman of style and substance, then she can win any pageant or any endeavor she is into. Also, it's very important, I have learned actually here in Miss Intercontinental, that a woman should possess power of substance," she added.

Miss Intercontinental 2021 Cinderella Faye Obeñita’s court included –

First runner-up - Paulina Uceda Escorcia of Mexico

Second runner-up - Romy Simpkins of England

Third runner-up - Kelly-Mary Anette of Seychelles

Fourth runner-up – Kaitlyn Li of Canada

Fifth runner-up - Maria Paula Castillo Lopez of Colombia

 

 

Apart from the crown the Filipina beauty queen was also named Miss Intercontinental-Asia Oceania, whereas, Kaitlyn Li of Canada won the Power of Beauty title and Amy Marie Rodriguez of Dominican Republic won the Best in National Costume, among other titles.

Aside from working in the provincial government of Misamis Oriental, Cindy is also an events host, model, and brand endorser. Obeñita, who considers Mother Teresa and Kobe Bryant as her role models, is an advocate for cervical cancer awareness and prevention, as well as press freedom.

 

 

The Binibining Pilipinas organization also sent a warm wish to the newly crowned queen, as she brought home the second Miss Intercontinental crown. "From wildcard to Miss Intercontinental 2021! Your Cinderella story is truly inspiring. Thank you for raising our flag, Cindy! Good morning, Pilipinas from our new Miss Intercontinental," the organization shared.
