The 49th edition of Miss Intercontinental, i.e., Miss Intercontinental 2021, is scheduled to take place in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt on 29th October 2021, where stunning delegates from all over the world will compete against each other for the coveted crown. Miss Intercontinental 2019, Fanni Mikó, from Hungary, will crown her successor at the end of the event.

While this year’s batch of stunning divas has arrived at the venue and have begun with the pre-pageant activities, Miss Intercontinental Nepal 2020 Nisha Pathak has recently revealed her national costume for the competition. The national costume called ‘Tharu’, is a dedication to the the indigenous people of nepal settled over 20 districts, who have their distinct language, culture, ritual and lifestyle based on where they live. In this national costume, the team has tried to bring them all together to celebrate their rich culture in the best possible way.

The Tharu costume is mainly made with the used clothes and are mostly patchwork which they stitch on their own, and hence the richness of colors is visible. The use of colors signifies their yields and also the joys of their new year celebration i.e. maghi.

In the costume as well, the team has tried to encourage sustainable fashion by using left over raw materials and tried to bring in as many colors as possible. The national costume is inspired from the tharu's costume and has been modernized for the international stage while keeping in mind their cultural significance. In this national costume, the Tharu culture from East to far West has been brought together.

Designed by the label, Pree by Priyanka, the mirror work and the coins in the blouse are inspired from Rana Tharu culture. While the white base is inspired from the Tharu culture in the East starting from Chitwan, the prints on the skirts are mostly worn by the Tharu's in the West, Mid West and Far West and the diamond patterns are mostly used by Tharu's in Kailali. Finally, the colours of the shawl represent the country’s flag.

Nisha is 23-years-old and stands 174 cm tall and is a Program Presenter who earlier worked with Health Television and currently works with Mero TV. The diva is not new to the beauty pageant world as she represented Nepal at Miss Grand International 2019 and was highly appreciated for her stint throughout the beauty competition. She has also won a runner-up position at Miss Heritage International and the winner of Miss Global International 2014. Her stunning beauty and all her experience in the pageantry makes her a strong contender for the Miss Intercontinental 2021 crown.

A believer and an achiever, Nisha is the beauty with brains of the competition. The beautiful diva has proven her worth with her sincerity, hard work and elegance. She speaks Nepali, English, and Hindi languages fluently. She is definitely bringing her best foot forward to represent and make the country proud.
