Miss Intercontinental 2019 is all set to host its 48th edition of Miss Intercontinental as the coronation night will be held on 20th December 2019 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Delegates from around 80 countries and autonomous territories will compete for the title. Miss Intercontinental 2018 Karen Gallman of Philippines will crown her successor by the end of the event.
On 15th December 2019, the national costumes contest under the framework of Miss Intercontinental 2019 officially took place. Vietnam’s representative Nguyen Thi Thúy An’s national costume titled as “Phi Thuy Son- Dieu Tinh won Princess” was highly appreciated by the fans and put up in the race of winning the title of Best National Costume award. Through the costume designer Nguyen Minh Tuan has brought Vietnamese folklore into fashion. The design is quite bright and prominent in the National Costume staging.
Thuy An’s costume was designed by designer Nguyen Minh Tuan features clouds, mountains and a large eagle on the back was expected to allow the delegate to perfume the best of her abilities and make a positive impression on the both the pageant’s judging panel and members of the audience. Detailed design of cloud - mountain meticulously and a large wingspan eagle creates a majestic image, power combined with softness, sophistication in the body of the green shirt, bright patterned background, bold Vietnamese Nam helped Nguyen Thi Thuy An to score an absolute score.
The right wing of the Eagle was broken in two, forcing Nguyen Thi Thuy An to use tape to wrap but was nevertheless appreciated by the audience. With a design that has both aesthetic and fashion, but still conveys the Vietnamese folk story associated with the image of a woman, beauty fans expect Thuy An to win the Best National Costume contest at Miss Intercontinental contest this year.

Thuy An is 22 year old, native of Kien Giang province is currently a student at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. She is not new to pageantry as she has previously been awarded second runner up title during the 2018 edition of Miss Vietnam. She is expected to perform well in the competition and win the title for Vietnam.
