Miss International 2015 finale concluded on the eve of November 5’ 2015, with the crowning of Edymar Martinez from Venezuela. With Edymar’s win, Venezuela marked its supremacy again in the world of beauty pageants. The overly excited Edymar was pure bliss to watch at, as her beauty was enhanced even more after she wore the crown. The finale of Miss International 2015 was a 4 hours long event, and if you guys missed it; here is a complete review of the final event.
To begin with, Miss International is one of the Big 4 pageants, but is not as popular as the other three. However, the pageant has its own charm and beauty. Miss International Organisation takes it upon them to make this pageant about Japan’s culture, and the way the organisation treat the contestants is amazing. So, the finals of Miss International 2015 started with the National Costume round. I am sure this is the favourite round for most of the pageant fans. Isn’t it..??
See the National Costumes of Miss International 2015 contestants
I personally feel, there is no good or bad national costume. The fact that you get to see and witness the grand cultures of every country, and their equally grand national costume, amazes us to the core and keeps us waiting for more. Although there were some contestants who donned some amazing and gorgeous looking set of costumes, others were equally beautiful too. It was after the National Costume round that the judges for the evening were introduced.
After the National Costume round and the judges’ introduction, the contestants walked the ramp in their respective swimsuits, flaunting their toned body. Some of the contestants were very impressive, while others failed to leave any impression. I loved Brazil during the swimsuit competition. Isis Stocco from Brazil was pure pleasure to look at. The way she moved was in perfect motion and rhythm with the music. Cuba was so calm and composed during her walk, it was like watching a musical. India, who walked the stage with a long braid, was a femme fatale, looking all sensuous and breathtaking. Philippines, who got the loudest cheer, nailed this round with her graceful walk. She had a phenomenal stage presence. Venezuela rightfully deserved the perfect body award. She had the accurate poise, presence and persona, to draw your attention. After the swimsuit round, it was time for the evening gown competition.
After National Costume, evening gown round would be my favourite segment. Evening Gown competition is like watching a runway fashion show, where all the contestants parade in their respective colourful gown, looking all pretty. Honduras made a jaw dropping statement. The small colourful chips and metallic pieces on the gown made her look so vibrant. India reminded us of the 90’s era, with her simple white gown. Philippines looked exquisite, with her queenly aura and enchanting smile. Undoubtedly, a very deserving “Best Dresses” award winner. USA was simply beautiful in the red ball gown. The shiny red linings on top border of her gown made it even more attractive.
After the Evening Gown competition, it was time to showcase the journey of Miss International pageant. There were some new awards that were introduced this year at the pageant; the continental winners award. The winners of the continental awards were:
Miss International Asia: Miss Korea
Miss International America: Aruba
Miss International Europe: Portugal
Miss International Africa: Kenya
Miss International Oceania: Hawaii
After the continental awards, the Top 10 finalists for the night were announced - Brazil, Honduras, Kenya, Mexico, Philippines, Thailand, UK, USA, Venezuela and Vietnam. The top 10 then gave a speech about what they would do if they were crowned Miss International. The speech time was one of the best moments from the finale. It was amazing how Kenya controlled her emotions while speaking, and later got emotional and shed tears. Philippines too got emotional talking about her ordeals growing up, she almost cried. Brazil was a bit nervous, but still managed to finish up her speech with confidence.
After the contestants were done with their speech, it was “the moment” of crowning the new winner. Before the winner for the night was announced, there were a series of Special Awards too, that were awarded to some of the contestants...
National Costume Award: Miss Japan
Perfect Body: Venezuela
Best Designer Award: Philippines
Finally, the runners-up and the winner for the night were declared.
Fourth runner-up – Lindsay Becker from USA
Third Runner-up - Pham Hong Thuy Van from Vietnam
Second Runner-up - Eunice Onyango from Kenya
First Runner-up - Jennifer Valle from Honduras
Winner – Edymar Martinez from Venezuela
Many predicted Honduras to win the finale, as she was brilliant and outshined throughout the event. Also, to watch Kenya make it this far at an international pageant was really amazing. In short, we believe that the crown of Miss International 2015 was well deserved by Edymar and she was truly a deserving winner. What do you think?
