Philippines’ Pride Kylie Verzosa was crowned Miss International 2016 on the eve of 27th October 2016, and since then she has been occupied with interviews. During one such interview with Noli De Castro on TV Patrol, Kylie had to go through some awkward moments.

What was supposed to be a candid Question and Answer session, turned awkward. The interview drew criticism and became viral instantly. During the interview, Noli asked Kylie if she currently has a boyfriend. To which, Kylie answered, “No, korona lang (No, just a crown).”

De Castro responded, “Lungkot naman niyan (That’s sad),” after which De Castro was about to end the interview, when Kylie replied, “No, hindi siya malungkot (it’s not sad). No, of course not! The crown is only once in a lifetime.”

When all the delayed conversation was not enough to create a mess, the anchor added yet another fact to make the conversation a bit more awkward. He added added that Kylie may have gained more suitors and admirers for winning the crown. However, Kylie chose to keep quiet and just smiled at the response.

The interview did end after all the clumsiness and discomfort, but the topic soon started trending on social media, and netizens criticized Noli De Castro for his unprofessional behaviour. Here are some of the tweets...

Fans came in support of Kylie and said that Kylie did not deserve such interview; nevertheless, she was able to handle it with class and grace. Kylie bested 68 other contestants as she bagged the 6th Miss International title for the Philippines.
