Miss International Organization announces alternate dates for Miss International 2020

The 60th edition of Miss International i.e., Miss International 2020 is scheduled be held on 29th October 2020 at Pacifico Yokohama in Yokohama, Japan. Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand will crown her successor at the end of the event.

But due to the current pandemic situation in the world, the Miss International Organization has revealed the alternative date for the pageant. If the pageant is moved later this year then it will be held on the 2nd December 2020. The letter of the alternative date has been sent to all the national directors of Miss International pageants. Meanwhile, the option of postponing the pageant event to next year is not entirely being ruled out.

The decision has been taken because of the pandemic to the local and global economy. Miss Universe Organization has already informed their national directors to either choose their last year’s first runner-up to represent their countries at the pageant or host a virtual ceremony in which they choose the winner. They have also given the option of conducting a private ceremony after the pandemic scare rises from the world and choose their representatives for the pageant. Specific date and location of the annual pageant are yet to be announced.

Miss International is only Big 4 pageants to confirm the alternate dates for the pageants and informed to all the national directors.

 

Sireethorn Leearamwat Miss International 2019

 

Sireethorn Leearamwat from Thailand was crowned as Miss International 2019. She is the first woman from Thailand to win Miss International, and the first Thai delegate to win one of the Big Four international beauty pageants since Bui Simon was crowned Miss Universe 1988.Last year’s Miss International pageant, surpassed the previous record of 77 contestants in 2018, making this edition the biggest turnout in the pageant's history.
