Yamilex Hernández, an actress and advocate of education, is currently in Japan representing her country Dominican Republic at Miss International 2023. Her participation has become a cause of celebration in her country as the people expect her to bring home the first ever Miss International crown for Dominican Republic.

On representing Dominican Republic at an international stage, Yamilex took to her official social media as she wrote, “I am delighted to have the privilege of representing the Dominican Republic in the Miss International pageant in Japan. It is an honor to be part of an event that brings together women from around the world to celebrate diversity and promote cultural understanding. I am excited for immersing myself in the rich culture and history of Japan and sharing our Dominican heritage with the world.”



The franchise director of Miss International Dominican Republic also commented that the notable opportunity was presented as the culmination of Yamilex Hernández's commitment to improving education in the Dominican Republic and her dedication to making a difference in her community.

Yamilex succeeds Miss International Dominican Republic 2022 Celinee Santos who represented her country at Miss International 2022 and with her stellar performance, she was adjudged as the 4th Runner-up. Miss International 2023, the 61st Miss International, will be held at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan on 26th October 2023 where Miss International 2022 Jasmin Selberg of Germany will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
