Certamen Nacional de la Belleza organization hosted the coronation ceremony for the Reina De El Salvador 2022 on 28th May 2022, where 14 stunning delegates from all over the country competed for the highest title of Salvadoran beauty. At the end of the event, Windy Portillo was crowned Miss International El Salvador 2023 and will represent El Salvador at Miss International 2023.

Representing San Vicente, Wendy was a dark horse at the national competition this year. She is 22 years old, stands 178cm tall and is Bachelor's student in Public Relations and Communications. Not new to pageantry, she was crowned Miss Latinoamerica El Salvador 2021 and placed as the second runner-up at Miss Latinoamericana 2021.

After being crowned as the new queen, Windy took to her social media to express, “It was a dream that from the beginning I did with my heart and I took it hand in hand with God and here are the results, today I will no longer represent a department, TODAY I AM EL SALVADOR.”

“I will have a year of preparation together with my national organization and hand in hand with my director Francisco Cortez, we will make El Salvador sound strong internationally,” she added. The diva will represent the country at the 61st Miss International pageant scheduled to be held next year.

This year, for the Miss International 2022 pageant, Genesis Fuentes will represent El Salvador as Miss International El Salvador 2022. Miss International 2022 will be the 60th edition of the Miss International pageant scheduled to be held in December in Japan.
