Chéry Cassandra replaces Merlie Fleurizard as the new Miss International Haiti 2018

In an official announcement by the Miss Haiti Organization, Chéry Cassandra has replaced Merlie Fleurizard as the official representative of Haiti in Miss International 2018. The decision was taken by the national organization due to the change in the eligibility rules this year in the international pageant. Miss International Organization requires that the candidate must be national elite with a maximum age of 26 or be one of the first 3 winners of the national contest.

Chéry Cassandra is now the newly appointed Miss International Haiti 2018. Not new to the pageant world, Cassandra was crowned Miss Haiti 2017 and went on to represent Haiti in Miss Universe 2017. The gorgeous beauty has gotten another chance to bring home an international crown and her fans are more than elated to hear the announcement.

Miss Haiti Organization also provided clarification on the replacement as they took to their social media and posted, “Miss Haiti Organization wishes to inform the press and the public that Haiti will be represented at the 58th edition of Miss International Miss Cassandra Chéry, from October 21st to November 9th in Japan. Indeed, because of the new rules of Miss International, we were forced to replace Miss Merlie Fleurizard elected on July 5 at the final ceremony of the Miss Haiti 2018 contest at the Marriott Hotel by Miss Chery.”

They went on to explain the eligibility requirement that Merlie, unfortunately, could not complete, “To note that Melle Fleurizard having reached this age and Cristina Cadet the first dauphine of Miss Haiti also, we had to call on Cassandra Chery according to the suggestions of Miss International.

However, Merlie’s and Cristina’s fan do not need to be disheartened as the gorgeous beauty will represent Haiti at the Miss Panamerican International 2018 from 14th October to 20th October 2018. Cristina Cadet will represent Haiti at Reina Hispanoamericana 2018 in Bolivia.
