The Miss International South Sudan organization hosted its coronation night for the title of Miss International South Sudan 2021 on 21 October, 2021 at the Crown Hotel in Juba, where beauties from all over the country competed for the coveted title and earned the opportunity to represent South Sudan at the international stage. Akon Santino was crowned as Miss International South Sudan 2021 at the end of the event finale. The crown was conferred by reigning queen Miss International South Sudan 2019 Achol Arow, as the pageant could not be held last year due to COVID-19.

Standing 175 cm tall, this Sudanese beauty is a professional model and loves to play basketball. Hailing from Aweil, Sudan, Akon is a graduate from University of Oxford. Her interests include reading and listening to music.

Beautiful Akon Santino is no stranger to the pageant world. Previously, she was crowned as Miss Aweil South Sudan 2020. She will now be representing South Sudan at the 60th edition of Miss International South Sudan, where reigning Miss International, Sireethorn Leearamwat will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan, in June 2020, Miss International organization announced that the annual 2020 competition was cancelled. Now, on 31st August 2021, due to the rising cases caused by the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant, the organization announced that the edition will be rescheduled to the autumn of 2022.
