The Miss Ireland organization hosted the coronation ceremony for Miss Ireland 2021 on 5th September 2021 at the Lakeside Manor Hotel in Cavan, where Pamela Uba was crowned as the new queen and won the opportunity to represent Ireland at Miss World 2021. She succeeds Miss Ireland 2019 Chelsea Farrell, who represented Ireland at Miss World 2019 and made it to the Top 20 of the Head to Head challenge.

Hailing from Galway, Pamela is 25 years old and claimed the coveted title ahead of 29 other contestants at the end of the event. Sharing her win, she took to her social media as she wrote, “It’s like a dream come true. Words can’t even begin to describe how I’m feeling right now, or have been feeling for the past week leading up to the final. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions!”

Pamela was crowned Miss Galway just days before Ireland went into lockdown in 2020 and spend majority of her reign working ono the frontline at Galway University Hospital. She has recently completed her Master’s in Clinical Chemistry in Trinity while also modelling part-time.

Today, a very proud Irish citizen, Uba grew up in direct provision after moving to Ireland with her family from South Africa when she was just eight years old. She hopes to use her Miss Ireland title to represent a more diverse Island on the world stage and believes education is a superpower.

She also mentioned, “It has been such a privilege to get to know, stand beside and go through this unique journey with so many extraordinary young women in the competition. I hope I can make you all proud as your Miss Ireland 2021 ???? and I can’t wait to represent Ireland at the 70th Miss World in Puerto Rico this December.”

Congratulations queen!
