At the conclusion of Miss Kansas USA 2018 finale held at the Kansas Star Event Center in Mulvane on 27th November 2017, Melanie Shaner crowned Miss Kansas USA 2018. She will now represent her state in Miss USA 2018 pageant to be held next year. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Kansas USA 2017 Catherine Carmichael.
Melanie Shaner is 19 years old and was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas. She has recently completed her graduation from Blue Valley North high school, where she was a member of the cheerleading team as well. Modelling and acting is god gifted to her as she started her modelling career when she was just 4 years old. Melanie has also appeared in runway shows, print advertisements and national TV commercials. Apart from modelling and acting, she has worked with over 15 different local and national charities.
After winning the title, she expressed her feelings by saying, “This will be my first time competing and I am beyond excited to learn more about myself and stand on a platform of service. Thank you for all support and love.”
At the same event, Hailey Colborn was crowned Miss Teen Kansas USA 2018 and she will now represent Kansas in Miss Universe 2018 to be held next year.
