The newly appointed Miss Mesoamerica Philippines 2022 is Maricres Valdez Castro of Muntinlupan and she will be representing Philippines at the Miss Mesoamerica International 2022 pageant. The diva has replaced Alexandra Rosales for the title as announced by the Miss Mesoamerica Philippines organization.

With this recent development, the head of The Authority Productions and national director of the Philippine franchise, Joselli Rojas addressed the replacement as the organization released an official statement that read, “The organization would like to address with a sad heart that previously appointed Alexandra Rosales had to step out of the responsibility of representation to Miss Mesoamerica International due to personal and work reasons. We wish Alex all the best in her endeavors.”

The newly appointed queen is a molecular biologist by profession and currently works for an organization in Washington, USA. During her spare time, Maricres does volunteer work for a non-profit organization. She has also represented Muntinlupa in a previous edition of Miss Universe Philippines.

Maricres also took to her social media to express her gratitude as she wrote, “Thank you so much to everyone for the outpouring of support as I take on this new journey in representing our beloved country of the Philippines on the Miss Mesoamérica International stage in El Salvador this coming March 13-19! This is it! I cannot wait to proudly represent our nation across my chest and shout: PHILIPPINES”

Catro will fly to San Salavador, El Salvador on March 12 to compete for the Miss Mesoamerica International title in March 19. Miss Mesoamerica International 2022 will be held from 13th to 20th March 2022 in El Salvador where Miss Mesoamerica International 2021 Ismelys Velasquez will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
