Vanessa Ponce crowned Miss México 2018

Miss México 2018 held its Grand Finale on 5th May 2018 at Salón Imperial de Villa Toscana, Sonora where 32 candidates competed for the national title. Vanessa Ponce was crowned Miss Mexico 2018 by the outgoing Miss Mexico 2017 Andrea Meza. Vanessa will now represent Mexico at Miss World 2018 where Manushi Chhillar, the reigning queen, will crown her successor.

Having performed well at the competition, Vanessa also went home with the Beauty With a Purpose title as well as Challenge History of Mexico special award.

At the end of the finale, Miss Quintana Roo 2017 Minerva Luna was announced the first runner-up whereas Miss Sinaloa 2017 Diana Romero was announced the second runner-up.

Also at the semifinal competition, Lezly Díaz from Jalisco was chosen as Miss Mexico Grand 2018, winning the first "Back to Back" for this state with this title. Díaz was crowned by outgoing Miss Mexico Grand 2017 Yoana Gutiérrez. She is the second Jalisciense to obtain this title.
