Talent is something within and if you have the courage to pursue it then you can achieve your goals effortlessly. Mikayla Holmgren has proved that talent has no limits; you can achieve anything if you have a will to do that. The woman with ‘Down Syndrome’ is all set to compete for Miss Minnesota USA 2017 beauty pageant. A dancer, artist, gymnast and a woman with supreme courage said, “I want to do this. My mom is so freaked out but I want to do this.”

This 22 year old girl is excited about participating in the pageant and wants to show the world that nothing is impossible. This beautiful woman is not new to the pageant world. She won the title of Minnesota Junior Miss Amazing 2015 as well and proved her talent. Holmgren has this passion of dancing and wants to win the title of Miss Minnesota in November. The winner of the pageant will represent the state in the Miss Universe beauty pageant.

The gorgeous, Mikayla will be reviewed in three categories: Evening Gown, Interview and Swimsuit competition. Her family and friends are all eager to watch Mikayla shine in the pageant. “I think it will enhance her capabilities and her smile and energy will come out,” her father, Craig added.

“The community will get to experience not only the beauty of Mikayla but the joy of Mikayla,” said Dawn Allen, Mikayla's buddy. When she was asked what beauty means to her, Mikayla is silent for a moment before answering: “Beauty is inside out.” I want to be a model to other young women with Down syndrome that they can do whatever they put their mind to,” Holmgren added.

The mother of such a beautiful daughter is quite happy and proud. “I just think how blessed am I to have this beautiful daughter that is making a difference in the world and showing others a different face of beauty,” her mother said. “She’s just a go-getter - I don’t know what it is about her.”

It is truly a learning experience knowing about her wishes and dreams; we just want to wish the courageous woman all the best for the pageant.
