Tamara Zaretskaya crowned Miss Moldova 2018

The Republic of Moldova received its representative last Saturday, May 13, 2018, as Miss Moldova 2018 pageant came to an end. The pageant selects, every year, the representative from Moldova to the Miss World competition. Miss Moldova 2017 Anna Badaneu passed on her crown, and the right to represent Moldova at Miss World to the new Miss Moldova 2018 Tamara Zaretskaya.

Tamara Zaretskaya fought against 21 amazing girls from all over Moldova and emerged as the winner as the competition came to a halt. Tamara also holds the title "Top Model Moldova 2016" and is one of the most successful models in the country. That could definitely be held as a helping factor in her win. Along with the crown, she received an apartment in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, on behalf of the organizers of the Miss Moldova competition.

The title of vice-miss, or the first runner-up, went to Alina Nikolayeva from Tiraspol, who is also one of the youngest participants of this year’s Miss Moldova 2018, and is only 16 years old. The winners were congratulated by Miss Moldova 2016 Daniela Marin. She had participated in the Miss World 2016 beauty contest and had entered the top ten.

The 21-year-old beauty queen took to her Facebook and wrote, “Thank you all for congratulations! I am very pleased to be aware that I am not alone and I have a lot of support, and I'm sorry if I don't have time to answer.”

The Miss Moldova contest is a national beauty contest, the winner of which is represented every year by the Republic of Moldova at the Miss World International Miss World, Miss Europe beauty contests and participates in manifestations with social, political, cultural and charity valences in the country.
