Miss Nepal is an annual national pageant of Nepal held in Kathmandu, Nepal since its commencement in 1994. The winner of the pageant competes in Miss World, the first runner up competes in Miss Earth and the second runner up competes in Miss Intercontinental. The gravity of this national pageant is immense and all the participating contestants work really hard to compete in the beauty pageant so that that can bestow pride and joy to their province and their country.

However, a potential delegate Sukla Devkota who was speculated to take part in Miss Nepal 2019 decided to skip her participation this year. The Nepali beauty who is currently residing in the city of Baltimore, Maryland is a medical student and a senior who will be graduating at the end of this year.

Sukla’s followers constantly asked her about her participation in Miss Nepal 2019, and to address their questions and put all the rumours to rest she replied on her Instagram story. She said, “I grew up watching Miss Nepal and wanting to be Miss Nepal someday. Back then, my definition of Miss Nepal was completely different from what it is today.”

She further expressed her interest still being alive in the pageant of Miss Nepal but now she is much more committed to complete her studies as her priorities have shifted. Being a medical student can be very challenging and hectic as one has to devote hours and hours in studying especially when one is in the senior year. She further added, “I need to complete my studies first, in order to participate.”

This beauty’s schedules are very hectic which will not allow her to completely concentrate on the pageant. She has prioritised her education first and has given hope to her followers and supporters that they might see her competing in Miss Nepal 2020.
