The 2017 Miss USA pageant has come to an end and it is a back to back victory for District of Columbia as Kára McCullough was crowned as the winner. The beauty queen was among the favourites for the title, but not many are happy with her victory. The reason behind the disappointment is majorly because of her answer at the Q&A segment.
Miss DC Kára McCullough was asked her views on whether affordable healthcare is a privilege of a right? Kára’s answer surely attracted some eye popping out expressions and reactions. She said, “I’m definitely going to say it’s a privilege. As a government employee, I’m granted health care. And I see firsthand that for one, to have health care, you need to have jobs, so therefore we need to continue to cultivate this environment so that we’re given the opportunities to have health care as well as jobs for all Americans worldwide.”

Viewers didn’t see that coming and were staggered by her response. The viewers were so offended that many of them took to Twitter to share their disappointment about the answer.
On the other hand, the first runner-up Miss New Jersey USA 2017 Chhavi Verg is garnering accolades for her personality, aura and her performance. She was one of the major favourites for the crown, but had to settle for the first runner-up title. In fact, some say that going by her answer to the final question, Jersey should have won. Twitter and other social media platform are flooded with opinions that Miss New Jersey should have won the title.
Verg was also praised for her answer on Feminism, where she opined, "Feminism is striving for equality and I do consider myself a feminist. I think it's a misconception when people believe that feminism is women being better than men. But it's really not. It's a fight for equality. And we need to realize that if we want a stable society, a better future for every single individual, we need to be equal. And that's why I advocate for education for women, because women are still held back in places of the world. They still don't have that right to their independence, that right to their equality, all because of education. And once we do take that step, I believe that an equal world will be a better world."
The beauty queen is studying marketing and Spanish at Rutgers University. She was born in India and moved to the United States when she was 4. Verg is a certified personal trainer who says she's dedicated to health and "female empowerment through education."
Miss New Jersey USA 2017 Chhavi Verg might not have won the crown, but she certainly is winning hearts and accolades. Was she your favourites for the title of Miss USA 2017 too?
