Emma Carswell has been crowned as Miss Northern Ireland 2016 at the culmination of the The glittering finale held on May 16’ at the Europa Hotel in Belfast. It was the 30th anniversary of the Miss Northern Ireland, which was concluded with a bang.

At the same pageant, Megan Geddis (Miss 21 Social) from Templepatrick was adjudged as the first runner-up, while Chloe Moore (Miss Bull's Eye) from Ballymena finished as second runner-up.

The 21-year-old Co Down beauty's crowning was the pinnacle of a gripping finale to the competition, sponsored by Therapie Clinic. Emma Carswell, a psychology student who volunteers at a suicide prevention charity, will get the honour of competing at the prestigious Miss World contest to be held later this year in beautiful Bali.

Emma attended Portadown College before starting her psychology degree at the Ulster University in 2013. The young beauty queen was all beaming with joy as she accepted the prestigious title of Miss Northern Ireland 2016.

The scintillating gala was graced by 17 former Miss Northern Ireland winners including Lucy Evangelista McCullough, Lori Moore, Rebekah Shirley.

After clinching the coveted crown of Miss Northern Ireland 2016, the beauty queen, Emma took her official Twitter handle to express her happiness, she posted – “I still can't believe it! I'm so grateful and super excited for the year ahead #TherapieMissNorthernIreland2016”
