16 Oct 2016 | Angelopedia

26-year-old Elizabeth Denny was crowned as Miss Oregon USA 2017 on October 16, 2017 at Mount Hood Community College and she will now represent Oregon at the Miss USA 2017. Denny has competed in 17 pageants in the past 10 years.

Ecstatic about the win, Denny said, “When I first started competing in pageants, it was for scholarship dollars. Through the years, I was actually able to get all the way through my Bachelor’s degree debt-free. For me, every year I competed, I was meeting new girls, making new connections, earning scholarship dollars. Of course, each year I competed, I wanted to be Miss Oregon. But it wasn’t my turn. This year, my 10th consecutive year competing in pageants, my dream came true and I learned something each year I competed and that’s what kept me going. I kept telling myself to never give up.”

The beauty queen said that this year's crowning moment has sent a message about never giving up. She said she was so nervous, her eyes were closed, lips were rolled together, and eyebrows were a little scrunched as she had the thought that is it really going to happen. Denny said she felt like it was so surreal, and she just can't really put it into words.

Denny is a pageant veteran, she was named Miss Douglas County in 2010 and Miss Umpqua Valley in 2012, and won three other open contests, so she was able to compete in the Miss Oregon Pageant in Seaside five times.

Denny is a Communications studies graduate from Portland State University and is currently building her own cosmetic artistry company, Betty Artistry. The lady also manages an Estee Lauder counter and in her free time she can be found seeking new and exciting adventures out doors or building memories with friends and family. Denny is an independent woman and says, “I feel like I’ve become a fearless woman through all of the years I’ve competed, I’m a business owner now and I don’t think that there’s anything that I can’t obtain.”

Elizabeth Denny’s dreams include traveling the world; mastering the Spanish language and helping women build confidence through fashion and cosmetics.
The pageant will be held in June and Denny is sure to make her state proud. Will she succeed? Comment in the section below and let us know your opinion about this stunner...
