Chhavi Verg was crowned as Miss New Jersey USA 2017 during the state finale held in Parsippany, New Jersey on October 16, 2016. Verg will now head towards competing for the 66th Miss USA 2017 title. Ecstatic about the title, Verg says, “If I can do this, anyone else can. It’s all about determination, grit and never losing faith in yourself.”

Chhavi Verg is the second Indian-American to win the Miss New Jersey USA title. She’s a graduate from John P. Stevens High School in 2015 and is currently in her second year at Rutgers University studying Marketing and Spanish. The beauty is working as a Marketing Assistant Director at the Rutgers University Programming Association (RUPA).
The delegate enjoys learning languages, dancing, and enriching her life through good health. Chhavi Verg is multilingual and can speak four languages—English, Hindi, Spanish, and Mandarin. Chhavi is also a trained Bharatanatyam (Indian classical) dancer and performed her Arangetram (a solo on-stage performance that marks the culmination of training) after 12 years of training. She also enjoys fitness routines and loves living a healthy life. Verg is an ISSA certified personal trainer and has recently started her own vegan/vegetarian health and fitness company to urge others to take care for their health both physically and mentally.
The young woman lives her life by this motto, "Dream big and no matter what anyone else says, always believe in yourself and your vision. Life is limitless and the only limits that exist are the ones you create in your head. Be sincere, give it your all, and never lose grit…that’s the key to making your dreams a reality."
Chhavi Verg decided to enter the competition because she was already involved with modeling, and competed in Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2015. Verg said winning was important to her mainly because she saw it as a way to empower, lead and inspire others.
“This was the hardest, but most valuable of prep. I really spent a lot of time this year getting to know myself, reflecting on my strengths and weakness, and figuring out my mission in life. Especially why I wanted to win and how I wanted to make a difference in the world” said Verg.

The beauty plans to use her title this year to help causes she is passionate about, including women’s education and stopping child abuse. Chhavi is extremely passionate about giving back to her community and her community service involvement continues to expand. She is a strong proponent of woman’s equality, empowerment, and education.
