Pierinna Patiño who was the representative of Callao at Miss Peru 2020 and soon became one of the fan favourites for the title, has decided to withdraw her application due to health reasons. The organization of Miss Peru confirmed the news by posting on their social media that she has decided to opt of the beauty pageant due to her health reasons.
The diva stated, “I want to thank all the people who have written to me and given their support all this time. Right now, I'm better, however for reasons of health I decided to take a step to the side and withdraw from the competition. I am very sorry for this decision but I know it's best for me. However, I am glad to know that I count on the support of Jessica Newton and Miss Peru organization because they have given me all their support this decision. I'll always be grateful to everyone you for your unfailing support.”
The Director of Miss Peru Callao César Meléndez has expressed his support to the diva and mentioned that “I think in these cases the main thing first is the HEALTH. No contest, no job, no event, no more important that the tranquillity of oneself; it is that's why after some meetings with Pierina and her family; they have decided to do the best for her. Thanks to our sponsors who made possible that her participation, preparation, and our great team the Team Callao was well covered. I want to thank all the people and pages who follow us and have supported, like no one, not from now but for a long time, people who truly have taken the interest of power knowing in a mature way what was going on. The pageant fans have been pouring their heartfelt messages for the diva to get better and healthy soon so that they could see her back on-stage soon in future. The director of Miss Peru Callao has assured the fans and followers that the diva would be back to represent the province in future. She was one of the strongest contenders for the title of Miss Peru 2020 competition and if she would have won, she would have been able to represent Peru at Miss Universe 2020 stage.
She was excited to represent Callao at Miss Peru 2020 stage and had explained that beauty pageants have helped women to feel empowered and encouraged them to work more towards their dream and she is one of those women and she wanted to use the platform to help woman or young girls to feel empowered too.
