Natascha Fischer of Netherlands crowned as Miss Progress International 2016

At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Progress International 2016 held at “Teatro Italia” of Francavilla Fontana, Natascha Fischer of Netherlands was crowned as the winner. Natasha’s project aimed towards preventing sexual abuse against minors in the Benelux.

Her project aims at informing students about devious methods used by those who commit sexual abuse of minors, through the autobiographical testimonies of the victims. The title of her project says "Stop loverboys".

18 years old Natascha succeeds Miss Progress International 2015 Liz Arevalos. The finale was hosted by the top model Giada Pezzaioli and the Italian-Korean actor Yoon C. Joyce, organised by cultural association In Progress chaired by Giusy Nobile and directed by Giuseppe Borrillo.

"I read books written by under-age victims of sexual abuse and thought it would be interesting to carry out a project intended to raise awareness of all students of the 2,352 high schools in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg about the premeditation of these abuses, even perpetrated in my school," said Natascha.

When asked what she most liked of Italy, Natascha flaunted a bright smile and replied, "The pasta! But tomorrow I go back to eating potatoes, which are almost ubiquitous in our dishes."

The final show was attened by the outgoing queen Liz Arévalos, who won the 2015’s edition. The choreography for the finale night was done by Matteo Giua’s and Rosaria Aprile’s. It was a two hour show which was broadcast live on TV and the web by channel 85.

At the same pageant, Bethany Cammack (from Britain) was awarded with the title of Miss Progress Health; Marianella Chavez Serrano (from Coco Island) was titled Miss Progress Environment; Yameesha Rasadi (from Sri Lanka) won Miss Progress Cultural Integration, and Carmelle Martinez (from Canada) won the most voted on the Internet. The Best National Costume award was won by Rafaela Torres from Brazil.
