15 May 2018 | Angelique Reyes

Miss Scotland 2018 is in full swing with its contestants being recently revealed. The coronation night of the competition will be held on June 15th at the Corinthian Club in Glasgow, where Miss Scotland 2017 Romy McCahill will crown her successor.

Jennifer Reoch will once again be hosting Miss Scotland 2018 final, and Emily Middlemas will also repeat history by performing at the coronation night. The finalists just met as they took part in a special photo shoot for East Kilbrideshire Magazine.

However, it remains very important for the audiences to know the finalists before they can choose their favourites, and the Miss Scotland organization is helping us with it. They have revealed information about the finalists that you might find quite enticing.

So let’s find out more about Linzi Mclelland from East Kilbride, without further ado.

Linzi is raising money for SAMH. She has been very close with the charity for some years now after losing her father to suicide.

Linzi will be climbing Ben Nevis and also be holding a charity night in the Body Shop in East Kilbride.

Linzi decided to do a charity climb up Ben Nevis to help raise money for SAMH (the Scottish Association for Mental Health).

She wrote about her motivation to do so on her Facebook page.

It seems like every week we hear of another poor soul committing suicide or struggling with mental health. Little do we know the extent of this. Over 700 people committed suicide in Scotland last year. It's time we put all our effort into help stopping this figure grow.

In order to help make a difference and support this worthwhile cause, Lindsay and I have decided to do a charity climb up Ben Nevis to help raise money for SAMH (the Scottish Association for Mental Health).

The work done by this charity is something very close to my heart after sadly losing my dad to mental health issues. We will be doing this walk in the memory of a very special man, James Mclelland and in the hope that we can help prevent more suicides in Scotland.

Anything that you are able to donate to support this cause would be greatly appreciated.

Linzi has done some truly phenomenal work and seems to have genuinely great ideas for the future. Will Linzi be becoming your favourite Miss Scotland 2018 finalists soon?
