As the national pageants are on its way to crowning the representatives for the major international pageants, this year the countries are making every possible effort to prepare and groom each and every contestant in the best way possible. Contestants themselves are gearing up to give their best shot to clinch the crown. One such pageant is Miss South Africa 2017.

There are a total of 12 contestants this year, and each of them is trying them have equally great chance of marking their victory. Recently, the finalists of Miss South Africa 2017 took out time to meet the children from Alexandra at a dental practice in Sandton where the theme of dental health and well-being was promoted.

The Cahi Dental and Prosthodontic is one of the sponsors of the Miss South Africa 2017 pageant. It takes care of 66 children from the Thuthuzela orphanage in Alex each year. Cahi Dental and Prosthodontic makes sure to give away free annual check-ups, free cleaning, fillings and extractions to the children.

 “It is a wonderful opportunity for us to reach out to these children and connect with them through education, play and music which brings a smile to their faces and allows them a brief moment of happiness and joy in their otherwise mundane and unfortunate lives,” said Dr Norman Cahi.

The finalists of Miss South Africa 2017 also paid a visit to the clinic to get their tests done, and also made sure to comfort the children through their check-ups. While the girls were there, they helped the Cahi Dental team with making sure that the children of Thuthuzela Orphanage were comfortable during their check-ups too.

Miss South Africa 2017 will be organized by the license holder Sun International in collaboration with Cell C. The winner of Miss South Africa 2017 will receive a cash prize, a car, an international holiday and other prizes in a package that exceeds 2 Million ZAR (equivalent to approximately USD 150,000). All the Top 12 finalists for 2017 will each receive a cash prize of 25,000 ZAR.
