The gorgeous contestants of this year’s edition of the popular national beauty pageant of South Africa recently visited one of the most popular UNESCO World Heritage Sites in South Africa. The beauties helped in cleaning the Robben Island by picking up garbage from the site and making the surrounding cleaner. Just check out these snaps from their Robben Island tour...

Isn’t it great that the Miss South Africa 2017 beuaty pageant contestants are working hard to influence people in order to keep the site as clean as possible? The contestants also visited the Robben Island museum which showcases about the great historical leader Nelson Mandela who fought with all his heart and sacrificed his life for the freedom and rights of his people. The girls were inspired by Tata Madiba’s thoughts, "Real leaders must be ready to sacrifice all for the freedom of their people." The contestants saw the place where the leader spent 27 years fighting for the freedom of South Africa.

This year 26 semi-finalists have been selected out of which 12 stunning beauties will compete for the crown of the pageant once they are shortlisted on the basis of public voting. This will be the 75th edition of the national beauty pageant and Miss South Africa 2016 Ntandoyenkosi Kunene is expected to crown her successor at the culmination of the grand finale, which is scheduled to take place on March 25, 2017 at the Sun City Superbowl in South Africa.
