Miss South Africa 2019 has officially opened its applications for the potential divas to compete in the national pageant and the opportunity to represent South Africa in Miss Universe 2019 and Miss World 2019. With the applications opening, the competition saw an inflow of hundreds of potential divas who want to compete this year.
South Africa has proven its dominance in Miss Universe pageant in the last few years with incredible performances from its representatives. With Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters winning the Miss Universe 2017 crown and then Tamaryn Green being adjudged the first runner-up at Miss Universe 2018, the pressure on these applicants will be manifolds to perform with utter sincerity and dedication.

In the last decade, South Africa has won a placement in the top in almost every year; In 2010, Nicole Flint was amongst the Top 10 in Miss Universe 2010. In 2012, Melinda Barn again placed in the Top 10 at the finale of Miss Universe 2012. In 2015, Refilwe Mthimunye placed in Top 15 and in 2017, Demi-Leigh subsequently went on to win the crown.
Rolene Strauss, Miss World 2014 also was crowned through the national pageant. She is one of the most accomplished and well-known beauty queen in not just South Africa and all over the world. She is also a part of this year’s edition and will definitely guide the contestants with her wisdom and experience.
Miss South Africa Organization has begun to prepare its 2019 edition campaign which features all these gorgeous former beauty queens who have risen the bar high for the potential delegates of this edition. The applications are still open for the country beauties to apply and compete for the national crown.
