Tamaryn Green, with her talent and brilliance, came up as the first Runner-up in Miss Universe 2018 which was held on 17th December 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. Being the successor of Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Tamaryn sure had a lot of pressure on her shoulders as she represented her country in the coveted Miss Universe 2018 pageant. But the gorgeous beauty handled it with grace and charm as she not only won over everyone’s heart at the finale but also came so close to winning the title! If she would have won the crown, Tamaryn would have made a consecutive win for her country, South Africa.

Tamaryn graduated from New Orleans Secondary School in Paarl and is now a medical student at the University of Cape Town. The inspiration behind joining Medical student came after she was diagnosed with Tuberculosis and was cured later on.

Green was initially announced as one of the 28 regional qualifiers for Miss South Africa 2018 in April 2018. Thereafter, she competed as one of the top twelve competitors. During the final competition, Green approached to the top five and then managed to hit the top two list, where she was crowned Miss Universe South Africa 2018 which made her the South African representative in Miss Universe 2018. Further, she was crowned Miss South Africa 2018 with Miss World South Africa 2018 being Thulisa Keyi.

Tamaryn’s journey moved a long way ahead as she became the first runner-up at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant in Thailand where Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, also from South Africa, crowned her successor Catriona Gray as the new Miss Universe. The utterance of her emotions was expressed in one of her posts –“My heart is Happy South Africa. What a life changing experience to have competed in Miss Universe and achieve 1st runner-up representing my beautiful rainbow nation. Thank you to everyone who showed love and support!!”
